Church Custodian (Full-Time)

Concord Baptist Church

Position Summary:

Concord Baptist Church is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Church Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship services, ministry activities, and special events. This individual will perform routine custodial duties, assist with event setup, and help ensure our facilities reflect excellence and hospitality.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facility Cleaning & Maintenance

Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, kitchens, fellowship areas, and worship spaces.

Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, dust furniture and fixtures, and clean glass surfaces.

Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, and restock restroom supplies.

Sanitize nursery and children's ministry areas.

Monitor custodial supply levels and report replenishment needs.

Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment.

Properly use and maintain custodial equipment and cleaning supplies.

Event Support:

Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment for church events.

Arrange rooms according to ministry and event needs.

Assist with weddings, funerals, conferences, seasonal programs, and other special events as needed.

Qualifications:

Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness.

Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.

Able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks including walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

Spiritual Expectations:

Maintain membership in a local church.

Support the mission, values, and beliefs of Concord Baptist Church.

Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a servant-hearted attitude.

Treat church members, guests, staff, and volunteers with courtesy and respect.

Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding church matters.

Schedule:

Full-time (40 hours per week)

Monday through Friday, with occasional weekday evenings or weekends as needed for church events.

Reports to the Pastor for Youth and Families.

Compensation:

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and church policy.
