English as a Second Language/Literacy

Looking to improve your English skills? Check out the ESL (English as a Second Language) program offered by the Hamilton County Baptist Association member churches. Our members provide resources for individuals looking to learn and improve their English language proficiency. Join us in this exciting journey of learning and cultural exchange!

Would your church be interested in having an ESL ministry?

We are specifically search for churches north of the river. Our association provides training plus literary resources for your classes. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Our association supports several different ESL sites. Each of our ESL classes are free to the public.


Students may enroll anytime during the semesters and attend as many classes as they like.

  • What is the cost of our ESL Training

    The cost of our ESL Training is $50 dollars per student. If you want to take the class, go to our giving tab and allocate the funds to ESL Training.  

    There will be additional cost of the training if you choose to order a physical copy of the book. Otherwise, there will be a free link to a kindle version. 


  • How long is the course?

    The course is a 4-week online program. It is a go at your own pace with the online assignments for those 4 weeks. Our ESL trainer will be there for any questions, comments, and encourage you to keep up the pace. 

    You will meet at the end of the 4 weeks on a Saturday on Zoom. This will be online with the instructor and she will go over material, questions, or etc. This typically lasts a day. That is the only time you meet!


  • What happens after the training?

    After the training is done, you will be sent a certificate to show you have completed the ESL course. You are able to teach. If you want to be plugged into a ESL ministry, email hcba@baptistassociation.com. Bailey will help you plug in with what area fits best!
