 HaCoBA Care Ministries

(Covers May, June, July and August)

During the months May through August food for 3227 people was given, there were 71 professions of faith and 65 rededications.

The following report for Baptist Nursing Fellowship activities at HaCoBaCare covers the period May 24 through August.

275 blood pressure test were taken, 6 medical consultations were made including referrals. 57 pairs of reading glasses were issued .

There is an urgent need for someone or group to accept the responsibility of maintaining a supply of reading glasses for stock. Because of shortages in specific strengths of glasses, Mrs. Gunnells who supervises the medical group has personally bought glasses to meet the need. Supply of reading glasses would be a worthy project for some church, S.S. class or some other group or person to accept. Pray with us regarding this matter.

The response for school supplies has been outstanding and it has been possible to fill every request made. Further, it will be possible to issue limited supplies for several months in the future. Thank God for the great response our people give toward filling special needs that HaCoBaCare has..

The Stuart Heights Baptist church has agreed to let HaCoBaCare have access to their contract with Constant Contact for the periodic issuance of an email that will be colorful and promote and inform of HaCoBaCare activities. It provides for emails to 500 people at intervals of our choice. The email can be of any length, has an attractive format that can be changed at any time and will include pictures of individuals or activities. HaCoBaCare will email the form to Constant Contact and they send to the mailing list provided to them. Constant Contact makes available the numbers of persons who read the mail, the name of persons who are rejecting the mail and other forms of information. The first mailing will be made in September.

During September and October emphasis will be placed on donations of frozen turkeys and/or money for purchase of same. It estimated there is a need for 250 turkeys.

During October and November emphasis will be placed on toys and/or money for purchase of same. Last year 667 children received bags containing 8 or more items and parents bringing the children received one gift. This year we want to prepare for gifts to 700 children.

Sometimes people express thanks to others as a matter of courtesy rather than from the heart. I want to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to you and the people in our Association. Your prayers and material support have made this ministry possible.

Respectfully,

R. C. Thornbury
