Music Ministry

The 2006-2007 church year offered several opportunities for participation by the various church music  leaders.  An average of 10  Music Directors attended the  monthly lunch meetings, where we shared, prayed, discussed issues of common interest and enjoyed fellowship around the table.In addition several directors and volunteer staff members of various churches attended a training session for Media Shout, a computer program designed to enhance message and music lyric presentations with video backgrounds. 

     It has become our practice to present a major worship centered program every other calendar year at the Memorial Auditorium with combined Hamilton County Baptist  church choirs.  The past year was an “in-between” year for that event, so we planned and participated in a special event  for Youth Choirs on September 9 and 10.  Each participating church selected a song for the event we called “Sing”.  Ridgedale Baptist Church hosted the two-day event.  Our guest director was Jeffrey Redding, from Orlando, Florida, and instrumental accompaniment was provided by the local group, “Tabernacle”.  The program consisted of a variety of styles of music sung by 110 teens from several of the churches of the association.  We especially acknowledgethe hard work of the participating Music Directors in rehearsing and helping with the various tasks.  The hospitality and preparedness of Michael Johnson and the staff at Ridgedale Baptist was invaluable.

    At the August  meeting the Music Directors selected Joe Zigler of Red Bank Baptist to head up the music leadership for the coming year.
